Sharing the Joy

When I say share your Joy Journey Diana and John along with their family did just that. Their joy involves dancing! They had a great time showing me some of their amazing moves! They offered unique ideas for poses that show their dynamic form and energy. The silk fan used in traditional Chinese dancing added a burst of color. This reminded me of spring and the energy that warm weather brings. The creativity was beautiful and unique! This demonstrates that your portraits don’t have to be standard! Share the gift of who you are by being expressive!

Hope and Patrick should look familiar because they have been some of my best supporters for years now! If you haven’t seen their beautiful engagement party blog head over here to catch up! This was the third year that I photographed their family. This was the first session we did!

Back then it was just these two with baby Vaeda on the way! Now that baby girl is so big! I was so excited to see her again! We did their annual session at the beautiful Liriodendron Mansion in Belair, MD. We made Christmas come early in front of this beautiful fireplace and in front of the mansion. Check out the images below! I really enjoyed working with their family. Hope is amazing at coordinating outfits and colors and sending me her ideas which makes getting ready so easy! We worked around Vaeda who was full of energy and wanted to explore and I think she did a great job! I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

3 Bundles of Joy

This family is blessed! I arrived at this session in the light rain and saw laughter and play. Kathleen’s beautiful family is full of life and you are going to want to see these adorable photos. I absolutely love when the whole family joins the photo party. The reason I love it is that you get fun moments seen below when the grandkids grabbed onto grandma’s legs laughing while she held the newest member of the family! Thank you for coming out to share your joy, Kathleen! I appreciate you and your family!

What a Dream

Karen and PJ have been a dream to work with. I was excited about their wedding from the start. I want to say the thing that stood out to me about them is that they are such peaceful people and they have so much fun. On the day of the wedding, Karen looked so elegant. She had these beautiful flowers in her hair and a gorgeous dress with the perfect amount of lace and flow. PJ was ready with jokes and laughter in his clean navy suit! The rain did not stop them from having a good time. After the ceremony, they departed in a mustang!

What I will never forget is them performing with their band! You could see them enjoying their passion together! I really enjoyed that. Friends and family danced and relaxed together!

The cherry on top of a great day was getting to reconnect with Edwin from my internship at Remsburg Inc. Karen and PJ are friends of his. Edwin took a moment to help me take portraits in the rain. Another cherry on top was having Rebekah C. Photography there to be a second shooter. We had a good time finding new angles to shoot from and capturing the dance as well. I was thanking God that I had this opportunity because I really do love what I do. And today was one of those days where I planned a lot for it. I took my time I thought through everything and it paid off. This was just such a great day I really love being a photographer and I really can’t wait to do it again.

Thank you PJ and Karen!

Zoë & Dom

Client Spotlight

Zoë had a special idea in mind for her second anniversary. She wanted to plan a special session in a Sunflower field. I was excited because I had not done a field session before! Usually, I work in parks with trees and hills. Sunflower season is typically in the summer so I was bummed out at first because a lot of farms were closing. I was so excited to find Magnolia Meadows Farms in Thurmont, Maryland. I headed out and was hyped at first because it had been a stormy week but this day was sunny and beautiful. It was the most refreshing drive for me. I was drinking in the mountains, the leaves, and the countryside.

Zoë and Dom were such a sweet couple they were willing to walk through the wet grass and bugs to make some great photos! We got the field to ourselves for two hours. This session was beautiful, vibrant and colorful, and worth the drive! I loved the humor that these two had. They were laid back and adventurous walking through the sunflowers, and wildflowers and climbing on tractors. We finished our session in the sunset with some poses against a wood fence. If you have a dream for a session please don’t feel limited by location or what you think is possible! Let me know so I can collaborate to make your vision a reality! Thanks, Zoë and Dom you were amazing and I hope you love your images!

If you haven’t been to a couple of Luau you need to go! Celebrating the future Mr. & Mrs. Hollingshead with this unique twist on a bridal shower! Here are some reasons why I love the idea and pics to prove it!

First I love that at a couple Luau both families are invited, kids and all! Everyone gets to have fun together like a pre-party to the wedding. I know on my wedding day I didn’t get to really hang out with family. A Luau allows you to spend quality time before the wedding. There’s less pressure, everyone can relax and talk with the couple without worrying about their first dance or bouquet toss!

The other reason I think a couple Luau is great is that you get more excited about the wedding day! Sometimes planning can be stressful, having a get-together just to laugh eat snow cones and dance to music is just fun! Did I mention everyone came dressed on theme! So cute!

Finally, I loved the Luau because Patrick and Hope got to celebrate together!

It was so great to see everyone come together, rain, and all for a good time celebrating Hope and Patrick! Check out more pics below and let me know if you have a couple Luau!
